Last summer I visited a datacenter in Frosinone. The travel it was long and we find more traffic, we arrived in Frosinone around the lunch hour, where we met technical manager and his staff. In the afternoon we went to company offices for visit it. When we entered inside, we received some fun gadget and the visitor pass for access the datacenter. We entered inside the server room and we found all racks with inside the company’s servers and the external server of many customers. When we access the server room, we sow manager use his badge, finger print and face id for open the door. Inside the room I sow many big rack cabinets with many network appliance (like routers and switches), a lot of servers and many network disks.
My first sensation was a strong noise of fan used for cool down the server temperature. Inside the room the temperature was not cold but normally. The company for cool down temperature used a special fan and air conditionate inside the rack cabins. Before the end of tour, a technical man, open the floor and show many optical fibers and ethernet cables used for connect every appliance. This experience, allowed me to see a real datacenter where many web sites are hosted.
